Sitka-Rocky Gutierrez, Alaska (PASI)

The city of Sitka is located in the Alaska Panhandle 95 miles southwest of Juneau and 182 miles from Ketchikan. The airport itself is located on an island near the town, but not connected to it. Ferry boat provides transportation to the island. The town of Sitka itself is historic, at one time part of the Russian territory of Alaska. The region is visited by cruise ships, and is on the Alaskan Marine Highway. Local attractions include sailing, fishing, and many other outdoor activities.

Terminals

Terminal facilities are located on the north end of the airport.

No tower on field. Snow removal and runway maintenance only during hours of operation. Aviation gas 100LL, and Jet-A available.

Right traffic runway 11.

Pilots are requested to self-announce departure prior to entering the runway, and within 5 NM of the airport when landing.

NorthernStar Airways pilots prefer IFR flight plans to Sitka because of the potentially hazardous terrain in marginal weather conditions.
