Fairview is located in the northwest region of Alberta, roughly midway between Peace River, to the east, and Fort St John, to the west. Agriculture is the principal local activity.

Ramp space is minimal. The airport is normally unattended. Aviation gas is available (100LL) but there may be a callout charge. Check before departure for snow removal in the winter
